Scotland considers joint Euro 2008 bid

Scotland is considering a joint bid with the Republic of Ireland to host football's 2008 European Championships according to UK newspaper reports.

The Independent newspaper has reported that governing body, UEFA recieved six bids in time for yesterday's deadline and though the Scottish Football Association has tabled a single bid, it is weighing up the option of sharing the hosting responsibilities with its Irish counterparts.
The only other single bid besides Scotland came from Hungary. The remaining four offers were presented to UEFA in the form of joint applications - Austria and Switzerland; Bosnia and Croatia; Greece and Turkey; and a Nordic bid from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
