The UK’s Lawn Tennis Association says it will invest £32m ($46m) of profit generated during this summer’s Wimbledon championships into grass roots projects.

"Kids and coaching are at the top of our list of priorities for new investment and this will make a tangible difference to our future prospects," LTA chief executive John Crowther said after revealing profits had increased from the UK's only Grand Slam.

"We continue to put all the funds available from the latest Wimbledon surplus to maximum use for the benefit of the sport."
