David Grace, Rockingham's chief executive, has appointed Nigel Hards as operations director and Eve Hewitt as sales and marketing director.
Hards (52) has over 30 years in the leisure and financial services industries, spending two decades with the Thomas Cook travel group, where he served as chief executive officer UK and Ireland Travel and as MD of worldwide tour operations. Hards joins Rockingham after a short spell as chief executive of Peterborough United Football Club.
Hewitt (37) joins Rockingham from SMG, where she was European director of sales and events, with specific responsibility for raising the number of sports and entertainment events for the London Docklands Arena.
Rockingham, near Corby in Northamptonshire, opened in May and its banked 1.5 mile oval track hosted Britain’s first ever 200+mph FedEx CART series event, America’s premier single-seat motor racing Championship in September.
