NBA signs major Greek TV deal

The NBA and the WNBA have entered a multi-year, multi-platform television agreement with leading Greek broadcaster Alpha TV.

The deal will provide content for the 2001-02 NBA season and 2002 WNBA season, via Alpha TV, Polis TV and Alpha Digital Synthesis.

As part of the new deal, Alpha TV, a free-to-air channel, will broadcast NBA All-Star 2002, the 2002 NBA Finals, and NBA Action - a weekly highlight show including late-breaking news from around the league and a recap of the past week's on-court action.

Polis TV, also a free-to-air channel, will feature a weekly NBA game throughout the season.

The DTH platform, Alpha Digital Synthesis, which provides programming direct to homes via satellite, will air a six-hour block of NBA.com TV programming seven days a week. Programming includes NBA games, updated daily highlights, classic programming and additional NBA news and footage.
