Gobarkingmad nearing television launch

Gobarkingmad (GBM), the interactive greyhound racing business run by Gaming Insight, is to launch the world’s first 24 hour interactive racing channel at the end of December.

After a six month delay GBM said today that its racing channel was nearing completion thanks to a successful soft launch on both the internet and a Sky digital satellite.

“The Board [of Gaming Insight] believes that gobarkingmad will be the most advanced real time sports betting platform on interactive digital television and will be available before any comparable service.”

The company’s chief executive David Sanderson told the London Stock Exchange that GBM’s business model may be used to launch a global interactive horseracing channel. He also moved to reassure investors, revealing that GBM is in the latter stages of discussions with several strategic investors about finding some more funds to support and market the business.

In today’s trading statement Gaming Insight said its horse racing betting advice service was developing well but that the future of its family entertainment website SportsMAD.com was still in doubt after a poor performance since September. “The Board is currently reviewing the options for this business and an announcement will be made when this review has been completed.”
