While it will still host Formula One races, the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit is likely to be ditched from the calendar when the venues for the 2000 motorcycle championship are announced later this year.
"Nothing has been finalised yet but Imola may well be dropped from the calendar," a spokeswoman for Grand Prix organisers Dorna said.
"It looks like there will be one extra race added, maybe in the United States or maybe in Portugal. There is also the possibility of two races in Japan rather than one. It won't be finalised until towards the end of the season."
