"I can tell you that by summer 2005 everything will be ready for us to organise an attractive pre-World Cup tournament," Beckenbauer, chairman of Germany's bid committee and vice-president of the German Football Association (DFB), said.
"Germany is a great football nation and its bid is supported by over 90 percent of the population," he added.
Beckenbauer, accompanied by DFB coordinator Fedor Redmann, had already visited Botswana and Mali on a tour to enlist support for Germany's bid to play host a second time. They hosted and won the tournament when it was staged in what was then West Germany in 1974.
Beckenbauer said 2006 was too early for Africa to organise the World Cup. Morocco and South Africa are both campaigning to bring the tournament to the continent for the first time, while England and Brazil are also bidding to stage the finals.
