The company has agreed a 2-year ticketing contract with Las Vegas Motor Speedway to provide ticketing for all of the venue's events. Tickets will be available through a variety of distribution channels including the Internet. Said Howard Nemenz, vice president of sales and marketing for the Las Vegas Motor Speedway: "We see e-commerce as a way of attracting the growing segment of technology-savvy fans to the sport of motor racing."
In addition, Tickets.com has been selling tickets to the Indy Racing League's first event of the season, the Delphi Indy 200, scheduled for Saturday, January 29 at Walt Disney World Speedway in Orlando, Fla. Tickets are currently available on the Internet at Tickets.com's and the Indy Racing League's Web sites.
Tickets.com has also signed a 3-year contract to be the primary sponsor of the Galles ECR Indy Racing League car, driven by Al Unser Jr. The Tickets.com car will make its racing debut on Jan. 29 at the Delphi Indy 200 at Walt Disney World Speedway. The car and crew will be outfitted with Tickets.com logos and the Tickets.com brand will be present in all elements of the team's programme.
