VTV SIGN FOUR YEAR BADMINTON DEAL

VTV, recently-acquired by UK-based The Television Corporation and now part of Sunset+Vine, has won a new four year contract to produce and distribute coverage of English badminton until 2005.

The agreement with the Badminton Association of England also includes a consultancy role to the association on all television matters and includes the All England Open Championships as well as the English National Championships.
The All England Championships, which celebrated its centenary in March last year, is shown live on Sky Sports and is seen by millions of viewers in countries around the world including Malaysia, Indonesia, China, India, New Zealand and Denmark. VTV provides coverage either live via satellite or on tape.
Stephen Baddeley, chief executive, Badminton Association of England, said: "I am delighted that we have been able to negotiate a continuation of the working relationship between our two organisations and look forward to working with VTV over the coming years to the benefit of the sport of badminton."
