FORD IN FIRST MAJOR ONLINE CAMPAIGN WITH SPORTAL

Sportal and Ford of Europe have signed a deal to make Ford a key sponsor of the Sportal Network.

The deal will extend across the UK, France, Spain, Germany and Italy and focus around Sportal?s extensive coverage of the UEFA Champions League.

Ford is one of the four official sponsors of the UEFA Champions League and the deal forms an integral part of their marketing around the event.

The sponsorship will include Ford branding on all UEFA Champions League news, previews, reports and fixtures, exclusive branding on live scores and match facts, and a whole host of downloads such as screensavers and wallpapers that Sportal will produce and promote to it?s users.

In addition, Ford will provide substantial prizes including match tickets and merchandising that will be used in competitions for Sportal's users, across the Sportal network.

Ford plan to trial the latest advertising technology, presenting clips from it?s television broadcast sponsorship using transitional adverts as users move into Sportal?s UEFA Champions League Section.

Said Simon Denyer, Sportal?s head of sales and sponsorship added: ?We believe that the major brands will soon be amongst the main spenders online and we know that they will increasingly look for more integrated and creative relationships. For Sportal it brings stable revenues and many other benefits such as credibility and the associated assets that the endorsement of a
major brand, like Ford, can bring.?

The deal was brokered between Sportal?s London based sales team and Broadmind, MindShare?s sponsorship and consultancy and MindShare.
