Sports retailer and event sponsor Vans Inc. has signed a three-year sponsorship programming deal with NBC Sports under which NBC will broadcast skateboarding championships and other events.
Under the deal, NBC Sports will broadcast the Vans Triple Crown Series, which includes events in skateboarding, wakeboarding, surfing and snowboarding.
Vans said its in-house creative team would produce the coverage, but NBS Sports producer Billy Matthews will act as a consultant.
NBC Sports will air 10 hours of the Vans Triple Crown Series programming throughout the year.
