ESPN Philippines, with a dedicated commercial stream, will be ESPN?s fourth feed in Asia, the others being ESPN Taiwan, ESPN India and ESPN Asia.
Based on viewing habits and preferences, the feed is customised to deliver sports that are popular with Filipinos. These include basketball programs such as the NBA and NCAA; billiards/pool/snooker; baseball; and bowling. Key programming will also feature more of extreme sports, American football, golf and boxing.
Rik Dovey, managing director of ESPN Star Sports says: ?This is part of our customisation strategy to bring our brands closer to our viewers. We have done this in India and Taiwan and the returns in terms of brand equity and consumer loyalty are very apparent.?
ESPN Star Sports (ESS) will develop its broadcast feeds in Asia with the addition of the Philippines.
