David Will - a supporter of the England bid - said the delay is "needless in terms of both time and costs".
FIFA announced earlier this week that the vote was being pushed back from March to July in order for all the major soccer confederations to be able to study each individual bid.
Said Will: "The bidding countries have been making presentations all over the world. I can't see this change will make much difference. Besides, at the end of the day it is not the confederations who vote but the 24 individual members."
England, Brazil, Germany, South Africa and Morocco are all bidding to host the tournament.
A vice-president of world soccer governing body FIFA has blasted the decision to delay the vote on who will win the battle to host the 2006 World Cup.
