Yugoslavia's exclusion casts doubt over their chances of competing for the UEFA Cup, for which the Intertoto cup is a qualifying round and other international club competitions.
"The UEFA Task Force decided that as a result of the current situation in Yugoslavia no club from this country will be entitled to take part in the 1999 UEFA Intertoto Cup," UEFA said.
"The place which was reserved for a club from Yugoslavia will therefore be offered to the former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia, which is the first country on the waiting list for an additional place in the competition," UEFA said.
UEFA said no decision had been taken about the participation of Yugoslav clubs in next season's Champions' League and UEFA Cup competitions. The deadline is June 15.
