The six times world champion and 10 times British Open champion wants to become a vice-president of the governing World Squash Federation (WSF).
Jahangir virtually disappeared from the sport after losing the 1993 World Open final to his great Pakistan rival Jansher Khan.
But in recent months all Pakistan's players, past and present, have been united in a bid to prevent what they see as a bureaucratic take-over of their sport by officials.
Jahangir has taken up an active vice-presidential role in the Pakistan Squash Federation. His nomination for a top WSF post will be voted on at Sunday's annual meeting in Stuttgart.
