DAYACOM WIN CONTRACT FOR MALAYSIAN SPORTS COMPLEX

The Malaysian government has awarded a huge RM12 million contract to a local company, Dayacom, to maintain the RM1.2mil National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil.

Sports Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said Dayacom, an advertising, promotions and event-management company, will start maintaining the complex for one year from next month.
The Merdeka Stadium Board, who has already moved to the Bukit Jalil Stadium, will manage the complex.
Under the contract, Dayacom will not only be in charge of maintaining the Bukit Jalil Stadium but also other venues at the National Sports Complex - the swimming stadium, indoor stadium, squash stadium and the two hockey stadia.
Dayacom will also handle maintenance at the netball and lawn bowl stadia in Bukit Kiara and the women's hockey stadium in Jalan Pantai. Muhyiddin said the Dayacom contract, is only valid for 12 months. Any deal on renewal will be based on their job efficiency during this period.
The local-based Dayacom is not new to the scene. It will manage the RM3mil opening ceremony by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad of the Bukit Jalil complex on July 11 and has been involved in several government programmes in the past.
