McDonalds, one of the sponsors of the competition, said the million dollars would go to a charity in the same country as the player who scores the three goals.
Only one hat-trick has been scored in a World Cup final before, by England's Geoff Hurst in 1966, when England beat West Germany 4-2.
The money will be donated to a childrens' charity. McDonalds said $25,000 would be donated for each first round hat-trick, $50,000 for a second-round hat-trick, $100,000 each in the quarter-finals and $250,000 each in the semifinals.
Some 44 hat-tricks have been scored in the World Cup since 1930, with seven being scored in the 1954 event, an average of three per competition.
