Arena Leisure appoints new chairman

Arena Leisure, racetrack owner and one of the three partners in UK-based media consortium attheraces, has appointed Roger Withers as the company’s new chairman.

Roger Withers succeeds Martin Pope who has resigned to devote more time to his other business interests.

Ian Penrose, group managing director of Arena Leisure, said: "Roger has an almost unique catalogue of experience across gaming businesses and we are sure he will make a valuable contribution to the company.

'We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Martin for his significant contribution to Arena Leisure over a period of major transition
for the company.”

The Board of Arena Leisure would like to take this opportunity to thank Martin for his significant contribution over the last ten years. Martin has played a key role in the transformation of the company into a leading UK racecourse owner, a shareholder in attheraces plc and a gaming technology
supplier.
