The withdrawal of Norwegian broadcaster TV2 has left the consortium deal signed between rights holders Prisma; terrestrial television firms from Norway, Sweden and Denmark; and Canal Digital with a noticeable financial hole in its contractual obligations.
Citing the advertising recession, TV2's decision has meant that one of the other broadcast partners will have to cover the Norwegian TV firm's stake in the $19million (B21.31m) deal.
It had been thought that the financially superior Canal Digital would step forward but an insider close to the situation has told sportbusiness.com
