Alain Prost said he needs a new major sponsor to be able to continue for a fifth straight season in charge of the Prost Grand Prix Formula One motor racing team.
The four-time world driving champion said his team needed “at least" $20.6m (B22.8m) to close its budget and be sure of being able to extend its agreement with engine-supplier Ferrari.
“The arrival of a big sponsor would unblock everything – other, smaller collaborators are ready to commit as soon as the future is assured,'' Prost said. “We showed what we were capable of doing this season with the smallest budget in Formula One.''
