German media giant Kirch has commented for the first time on the deal it has struck with the BBC and ITV to broadcast soccer’s World Cups in 2002 and 2006.
KirchMedia, owner of the global television rights to the FIFA World Cups, sold the rights to the two tournaments for £160m ($231m/B256m) – a figure first revealed exclusively on sportbusiness.com
