The new tools, which are currently offered at no charge, allow any internet site to wrap their own ‘look-and-feel’ around content from the Rivals.com network. This includes team site news, recruitment content, rankings and other in-depth coverage.
“This technology is fantastic,” said Greg Gough, chief technology officer for Rivals. “It allows any site to put up content into their shell. We have developed a template technology that is flexible enough to be used with any site in the world.”
Rivals has already implemented several of these sites, including one for the Dallas Morning News.
Said John Banks, sports editor of DallasNews.com: “Rivals information is top flight. We have found that our readers enjoy recruiting news and information. The Rivals material is an excellent addition to our website.”
Jerry Cover, CEO of Rivals believes the service will attract more readers to the news sites. “We also gain new readers and new subscribers for our sites from these relationships. Everybody wins,” he said.
