US broadcaster NBC has extended its current rights agreement with the US Golf Association through to 2008, including coverage of the US Open Championships.

The deal incorporates a number of junior events under the remit of the USGA such as the US Junior Amateur Championships. NBC has been covering USGA tournaments since 1995.
USGA president Trey Holland commented: "We are pleased that our relationship with NBC is continuing with more coverage of the US Open and our junior championships. NBC's telecasts will give golf enthusiasts worldwide the chance to enjoy the total spectrum of our national championships."
NBC will continue to show more than 30 hours a year of USGA Championships including the US Women's Open and the US Senior Open.

The new deal comes off the back of the multi-million dollar rights deal signed by the US PGA Tour with a consortium of broadcasters, amongst whom was NBC.
