Hotel group De Vere is counting the cost of the cancellation of this year’s Ryder Cup to the tune of £700,000 ($1.03m/B

Chief executive Paul Dermody says it is in negotiations with organisers to try and get compensation – the Ryder Cup was due to have been played at De Vere’s Belfry Hotel in the UK.
