Spanish club agrees budget for season

Shareholders in Spanish soccer club Zaragoza have agreed a budget of Pts5.475bn ($30.2m/B

During a board meeting, it was disclosed net profit for last season stood at Pts1.057bn ($5.8m/B6.3m), an increase of 11.8 percent over the previous year.

The club's most important source of finance was TV rights, advertising and ticket sales which brought in Pts2.3bn ($12.7m/B13.8m) including Pts330m ($1.8m/B1.9m) from pay-per-view.

President Alfonso Solans promised he would be urging the Spanish league - La Liga Profesional de Futbol - to negotiate TV rights in common for the whole of the first and second divisions as well as Segunda B because "it would make a significant financial difference".
