Colombian soccer accepts TV consortium bid

A newly formed Colombian domestic soccer league has handed its non-terrestrial TV rights to a consortium bid of three broadcasters.

The deal, which runs from October of this year through until next December, will see Sky and TV Cable handle the rights within Colombia while Fox Sports will distribute the content abroad.

The league has been organised by Colombian domestic soccer's governing body DiMayor and will be known as the Colombiano.

Television coverage is likely to be predominantly in a pay-TV format although matches are likely to be screened on the internet.
