The Hamburg-based agency, which expects to become part of one of Europe’s most powerful sports marketing companies after its anticipated merger with Group Jean-Claude Darmon and Sport +, has handled worldwide TV and advertising rights for Iceland’s national team for the past eight years.
That deal, due to end in 2002, has been extended by four years and expanded to include the entire range of media rights of the Icelandic Football Top-League and the National-Cup and National-League-Cup.
“We are very glad to have reached an extension of the contract with Ufa Sports after intense negotiations,” said Eggert Magnusson, president of the KSI. “For eight years, the co-operation has proven trusting and successful. We are looking forward to a further four years.”
