Sport England appoints Clear Channel executive

The UK government’s sports development organisation, Sport England, has appointed Roger Bottomley, chairman of a leading leisure group, as interim CEO.

Bottomley, chairman of US-based entertainment giant Clear Channel Entertainment’s Leisure Group, has been seconded to facilitate the day-to-day running of the organisation, ahead of its appointment of a new chief executive.

Sport England is a non-departmental government body that provides public funding to English Sport, from schools and grass roots to Olympic champions and national stadiums.
