With much of the last fortnight’s sporting calendar decimated following the tragedy – particularly in the US – golf’s Ryder Cup was the highest profile casualty as it was postponed amid some claims it should have gone ahead.
According to the hundreds voting on our poll, 55.4 percent said sport’s response to the political events had been ‘inevitably mixed’ while 41.5 percent believed it had been handled ‘entirely appropriately’.
Just 3.1 percent said it had coped ‘completely inadequately’.
