NFL digs deep to help rebuild after terror blitz

NFL Charities will contribute a minimum of $5m (B5.45m) and the NFL Players Association will contribute another $5m.

The minimum $10m (B10.95) total will be placed in a special NFL-NFLPA Disaster Relief Fund and will be administered by a joint board co-chaired by commissioner Paul Tagliabue and NFL Players Association executive director Gene Upshaw.

“We are pleased that the NFL owners and players have joined together once again to make this heartfelt contribution to the families and other individuals with needs arising from last week’s terrorist incidents,” said Tagliabue and Upshaw in a joint statement.

“This $10m will be distributed to worthwhile groups that are doing their share to help relieve the stress of those families and others affected by this disaster.”
