Boxing travel firm on the ropes

The UK travel firm selling ticket packages to the heavyweight boxing showdown between Lennox Lewis and Hasim Rahman says ticket sales have ground to a halt following the US terror attacks.

Lennox Lewis Travel had expected to sell close to 2,500 packages for fans to fly out and watch the championship bout in Las Vegas in November.

But having sold 300 tickets in just seven days, sales since September 11 have totalled just 40.

Said Edward Rom, a partner in the firm: “I don’t think we will lose money but obviously potential profitability has been decimated.”
