NASCAR ratings continue to impress

The NASCAR Winston Cup series has continued to record impressive television ratings with the latest race at the new Chicagoland Speedway attracting an audience of 21 million.

The Tropicana 400, which is the second race broadcast on NBC after coverage switched from Fox midway through the season in accordance with the new rights agreement, earned a 5.6 rating and 14 share of audience.
Viewing figures for the race peaked with a 6.6 rating for the final 15 minutes. NBC is now averaging a 5.8 rating and 14 share for its NASCAR coverage this year.
