UK mobile internet services company Wap Integrators and Premier League club Derby County have signed an agreement to provide fans with club branded mobile phones offering content from Derby County’s web site.
Football quizzes and lotteries will also be offered as well as a pay-for-text messaging service and betting services via Wap Integrators’ own operation called sportsflutter.
Wap Integrators splits revenues from the SMS service and betting operation with Derby County and gets a cut of call time charges from BTCellnet, which provides WAP-enabled Nokia phones free of charge to supporters.
The company has already hatched similar deals with Leeds United and London Broncos rugby league club
