Both athletes will be in the studio to provide first-hand expert analysis, Freeman for the women’s 400m events while Johnson will be a regular guest over the course of the ten days of the championships. The coverage will be fronted by ex-tennis player Sue Barker.
Despite the seven hour time-zone difference between the UK and Canada, more than 80 hours of coverage is scheduled to run across BBC1 and BBC2.
UK terrestrial broadcaster the BBC has signed up 400m stars Cathy Freeman and Michael Johnson as part of its commentary team for the upcoming World Athletics Championships, to be held in Edmonton, Canada through August 3-12.
