Manchester United may take legal action over unlicensed bar

English soccer club Manchester United is on the brink of taking legal action against a Hong Kong restaurant that is using the club’s name without a licence.

The South China Morning Post reports that Manchester United Restaurant and Bar, which opened on Monday, is surrounded by posters of midfielder David Beckham and offers customers a traditional ‘Manchester United Meat Pie’.
Van Ge Kourentis, head of the club’s marketing department told the newspaper: “It’s definitely not an official restaurant. We will look at it and we will make a decision on whether to take legal action.”
Patrick Pang Yung, a director of the restaurant, admits he does not hold a licence for using the club’s name. “We don’t have that much to do with football. It’s a restaurant, and we just want to have a gimmick to attract people,” he said.
