Craig Carracher, isport chief executive, said he believed there was a lack of understanding north of the border about the value of community sports.
Isport provides information and services to the governing bodies and participants of amateur sports such as fencing, hockey and archery.
The Edinburgh office, at Waterloo Place in the east end of the city, is isport’s only UK office and represents 12 sports governing organisations including the Scottish Schoolsport Federation and the Scottish Ice Hockey Association.
Isport.com, the Australian-owned sports portal, is considering closing its Edinburgh office due to a lack of corporate sponsorship in Scotland.
