Great big events extends ACB contract

Sport presentation and production company, Great Big Events (GBE), has been appointed the ‘Official Sport Presentation Partner’ of the Australian Cricket Board (ACB) for the next three years.

The appointment will see GBE manage the game presentation and production for all Test and one-day matches, the ING Cup Final and Pura Cup Final, plus a range of other media and event related activity until the 2003/04 season.
Managing director of GBE, Greg Bowman, said his company has developed a close working relationship with the ACB over the past five years, and was pleased it had extended the arrangement for the next three years.
Bowman, the creative force behind the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, will drive the creative process in conjunction with the ACB and State Cricket Association in-house event resources.
He said crowds will enjoy quality entertainment, including exciting, motivating video packages and player selected song lists.
The ACB’s general manager of marketing, David Fouvy said the ACB knows the importance of a well-packaged sport presentation.
“The next three years will see New Zealand, South Africa, England and India all play in Australia and GBE’s expertise will ensure that supporters around the country will enjoy not only the cricket but also the presentation of the games. GBE are very sensitive to the traditions and culture of the game, but still create an exciting and informative overall presentation,” Fouvy said.
GBE is currently presenting the Australian Rugby Union Lions Test Series and will later this year be involved with the Goodwill Games, the IAAF Grand Prix Athletics Final, Sydney Swans home games and all major events for Australian swimming.
