Proactive sports group reports 'buoyant' transfer market

Alternative Investment Market (AIM)-listed sports player management and marketing agency Proactive Sports Group has reported a total of 36 player transfer deals in its football division since being admitted to AIM in May this year.

The company revealed to Sport Business Group’s new quarterly publication Football Business International that it aims to conduct 100 transfer deals or contract renegotiations per year from its roster of over 200 players.
Half of the recent deals have been within the European market, with the Greek agency Sportsline Management, the company Proactive acquired in June, making ‘a significant contribution’.
Proactive’s acquisition of Liberio Management Ltd in May 2001 further strengthened the trading performance of the Group’s football division in the UK in an extremely buoyant transfer market, the company said.
Proactive has concluded a total of 36 player transfer deals across 13 countries in the period 15 May 2001 to 17 July 2001, including Peter Schmeichel from Sporting Lisbon (Portugal) to Aston Villa (UK), Alan Stubbs from Celtic to Everton, Archie Thompson from Marconi (Australia) to Lierse (Belgium) and Kolka from PSV Eindhoven (Holland) to Panathinaikos (Greece).
