BET spokesman Michael Lewellen commented: “We’ve had some preliminary discussions about formalising an agreement with the UWA but any reports of a completed deal are premature.”
Should the partnership go ahead, BET would be the first cable network to broadcast non-WWF wrestling content since TNT’s coverage of World Championship Wrestling which was disbanded and eventually sold to WWF Entertainment.
US cable network, Black Entertainment Television (BET) is in talks with professional wrestling body Urban Wrestling Alliance (UWA) with regard to a series of weekly shows.
