In September 2009, it was confirmed Ron Gourlay would become the new chief executive of English soccer giants Chelsea, replacing the out-going Peter Kenyon.
Gourlay joined Chelsea in May 2004 from his role as commercial director of Manchester United Merchandising.
Prior to that, he spent 16 years at sports brand Umbro, latterly as business development director.
Prior to becoming CEO, he was chief operating officer and responsible for Stamford Bridge and matchday operations as well as commercial and marketing.
