Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich is the billionaire owner of English Premier League soccer club Chelsea.
Raised in humble surroundings, he used his business acumen to pull him out his surroundings and quickly became a force to be reckoned with.
He found his fortune in oil, and as his holdings grew, so did his status within Russian political circles, ensuring he became a man of some power as well as extreme wealth.
But it was his move on Chelsea FC in 2003 which brought him to the attention of the wider public, ouside of Russia.
His initial investment in the club ushered in a new era both for the London team and the spending clout of Premiership teams - spending tens of millions of top talent within weeks of arriving.
The investment has paid off, with the club winning silverware and establishing itself as one of English football's 'big four' - joining the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.
