A member of the Internaitonal Olympic Committee since 1996, Lee Kun-hee was chairman of Samsung Electronics but resigned from the position in 2008.
He quit as a result of a scandal which also forced him to stand down from the IOC. However, in February 2010 he was reinstated.
He returns as a full member following a recommendation by the ethics commission to the IOC's executive board meeting in Vancouver.
