Karim Bashir is the founder and Managing Director of Catch Sport Ltd, an online sports sponsorship matchmaking and contracts service.
Graduating from Surrey University with a 2:1 (Hons) in Sports Science and Mathematics in 1996, he went on to work for Energy Management Brokers for 18 months before taking up the post of New Business Development Manager (Public Sector Healthcare) at Computacenter. During his 5 years at Computacenter Bashir (and his team) took the annual revenue of their Healthcare Business from £100k to well over £30million and was personally responsible for the sale and delivery of the UK’s first fully integrated Electronic Patient Record system.
An accomplished Fencer, Bashir competed internationally at all levels for Great Britain, and Wales and competed at four Commonwealth Games winning a Commonwealth Silver medal in 1998. He now occupies his spare time with teaching children how to fence.
Over the past 4 years Bashir has built a large network of contacts within the sports industry (athletes/NGBs/sponsors) and is recognised as an expert in his field. This has led to his company having an exclusive sponsorship partnership with the British Athletes Commission.
