Joseph A.

Joe is the Managing Partner, Global Sport Leadership Advisory Group. The Group advises on effective leadership and complex problems involving vision, strategic alignment, general management/execution, and talent management to owners, boards, companies, associations, federations and government entities involved in the "global sport ecosystem."

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Joe held leadership roles—both global and domestic, with the Dallas Cowboys, the National Football League/World League, the National Thoroughbred Horseracing Association, and the InterCompete Group. Most recently, he was CEO of Dolphins Enterprises, the Miami Dolphins, and Dolphins Stadium.

Earlier in his career, Joe spent 10 years in executive search consulting where he built and led the Media, Sport and Entertainment practice of a global search firm. During his tenure, he was the Partner in charge of the flagship New York office and completed more than 150 assignments and special projects. His overall experience in building, starting, or turning around complex entities brings a unique insight, perspective, and value.

Recognizing Joe’s deep understanding of what is required to build peak performance organizations, the Sporting News called him the most influential recruiter in sports, and included him on its list of The 100 Most Powerful People in Sports. Joe is a frequent media guest speaker on the “Future of Global Sport.”

Education
Joe attended the University of North Carolina where he earned his AB in political science. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
