2008 saw the emergence of another potential tennis star from Slovakia in Dominika Cibulkova. In a year to remember she soared up the rankings and y her performances since then show there is plenty more success in store.
Cibulkova built on her 2007 achievements in 2008 where she reached the finals at two Tour events; Amelia Island and Montreal.
She received the Slovak Women’s Tennis Player Award in 2008 and finished No.1 in Slovakia for the first time on year-end rankings.
Introduced to tennis at age seven by her parents, Katarina Cibulkova and Milan Cibulka her favourite surfaces are clay and hard court and her favorite shot is the swing volley.
