Based in Lausanne (Switzerland), SportAccord is the dynamic umbrella organization for International Sports Federations, both Olympic and other, and for the organizers of sporting events as well as other organizations for the benefit of international sport.

About the role:
Reporting to the Council, the executive organ of SportAccord, the Director General leads the SportAccord operations on a daily basis and is responsible for the implementation of the organizations strategic programs with the help of a team of about 15 people.
The responsibilities of the Director General include:
- Development of the organizations strategic and operational plans, subject to approval by the SportAccord Council
- Identification of new opportunities and ventures that are of benefit to SportAccord members
- Maintain relationships with SportAccord members and other stakeholders, including the International Olympic Committee, SportAccord sponsors and suppliers, the United Nations systems, and other associations and organizations
- Support the President and the Council members in their duties
- Prepare and organize the General Assembly and the Council Meetings
- Manage the financial accounts of SportAccord, realizing target budgets
- Manage and develop the SportAccord Team
- Ensure the delivery of SportAccord’s Multi-Sport games, including World Combat Games, World Mind Games, and World Beach Games
- Support the separate entity that organizes the SportAccord Convention
- About the person:
For this exciting and demanding role, SportAccord is looking for a person with:
- a relevant academic degree
- 10+ years of experience in a management position
- good knowledge of the sports landscape and its stakeholders would be advantageous
- excellent business understanding
- experience with the organization of international events
- international working experience
- a good financial/budget management track record
- fluency in English, good knowledge of French or any other language being a big plus
- computer literate
