UEFA Events S.A. is a wholly-owned UEFA subsidiary company, split into two strategic business divisions of marketing and event operations.

 
In being the centre of business excellence in European football, our objectives are:

  • To grow net revenues from UEFA competitions
  • To deliver UEFA events to the highest relevant standard
  • To share knowledge with members of the football family

UEFA Events SA’s marketing division develops television and media content strategies for all UEFA competitions as well as sponsorship strategies for all club and certain national-team competitions. The division is also responsible for the implementation of such strategies, through direct sales or external marketing agencies. Brand management and business research are also services provided by the Marketing division.

Profile
Work experience:
- 8-10 years in a sports marketing company and/or brand, brand design, advertising agency
- Experience in brand development and management with a focus on creative development
- Strong knowledge of on and off-air creative applications
- Knowledge of turning research and insights into strategies and creative solutions
Education: University degree in relevant field
Languages: Fluent English
Purpose of the job
UEFA is the benchmark in the world of sports marketing, brand development and brand management. The focus of this role is to define/realign the objectives and relative brand positioning of UEFA's portfolio of brands and activities and translate them into brand strategies and creative solutions.
As the architect of creative strategy, it is important to have a solid understanding of how to leverage insights through analytical thinking in order to intuitively and creatively bring to life the brand world throughout all touchpoints and communication channels.
Main responsibilities
1. Brand strategy and development
• Working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager and in collaboration with Brand Account Managers to develop consistent and coherent brand positioning and brand strategies in line with overall objectives and key performance indicators across UEFA's activities and portfolio of competitions.
• Ensure consistent and coherent branding strategies are in place for every UEFA brand activity (corporate, competitions, corporate social responsibility, activities, events, etc.).
• Develop creative solutions to bring to life the relative brand positioning, leveraging insights and research to inform decision-makers and the deliver against brand key performance indicators.
2. Branding development
• Development, in collaboration with leading agency networks and strategic partners, of creative concepts which can be applied across on/off-air channels/applications and adopted by key stakeholders (sponsors, broadcasters), all concepts to be on-strategy, on-brand and rooted in research.
• Creative development to include brand identities – eye-catching logos, slogans, music development, on-air creative (replay wipes, opening and closing credits, breakbumpers), studio designs, digital applications, e.g. web banners and off-air event promotional materials – programme adverts, signage designs, print applications and other key elements of visual identity leveraged across multiple traditional and non-traditional platforms.
• Analyse and recommend creative solutions and communication channels to appeal to the core and expanded audiences in existing or new markets.
3. Promotion brand
• Develop concepts and ideas servicing brand stakeholders and encouraging usage by media, sponsors, partners and clubs in order for Brand Account Managers and strategic partners to provide a proactive service whilst encouraging the consistent use of positioning and assets at a global level.
• Development of brand inspiration tools and application guidelines for all partners to inspire quality brand application.
4. Brand project management
• Provide project management style approach for the management of projects from initiation to finalisation, of which majority of projects will be part of an overall master project; ensure expert application of planning based on clients needs, projects plans, budget management and agreed timing plans, including full review at end of project to ascertain effectiveness and learning.
• Focus on supporting and servicing the needs of internal UEFA especially UEFA Brand Management to provide creative, innovative solutions for UEFA activities and competitions.
• Ensuring the quality of each project, completed on time and within budget, with the focus on being cost conscious at all times.
5. Market intelligence
• Be at the forefront of latest industry developments, specifically in the fields of sports and entertainment marketing, including the latest media activities and sponsorship activation, ensuring relevant colleagues are kept abreast of these activities, to continually reinforce UEFA's position of being regarded as the benchmark.
• Recommend creative partners to work with, ensuring the highest quality and value for money is at the forefront.
6. Presentations/relationships
• Prepare precise and concise, visually appealing presentations and documents with a logical flow to 'sell and present' strategies and creative concepts.
• Build strong client service/collaborative relationships across all relevant UEFA divisions in order to better serve the needs of internal clients and become a credible point of contact and support for colleagues – working with internal expertise across divisions.
7. Venue Role
• Assume a regular on-site venue role working at a UCL or UEL venue.
