Arsenal Broadband Ltd (ABL) is a joint venture between Arsenal Football Club and Kroenke Sports Enterprises and operates the club’s digital media properties – including the UK club TV channel, mobile services, the official website and online video subscription service.
The General Manager will be tasked with leading the existing team of 11 to achieve a range of challenging short and medium term business objectives as well as envisioning the digital media strategy for the longer term.


The General Manager reports directly into the ABL Board, but the day to day reporting line goes into the club’s Commercial Director


Main Tasks:


• Overall operational management and revenue responsibility for the following:

 Official Club website
 Online merchandise sales (in partnership with the club’s retail team)
 Arsenal TV Online: proposition and subscription sales
 Arsenal TV – UK club channel: content and operations.
 Arsenal TV – International programming: content and operations
 Operational support of mobile services: Both UK and International
 
• Work with Club sponsors develop and implement integrated digital marketing strategies across the full range of Club channels.

• Seek out new commercial opportunities and identify new products and services as part of a broadening portfolio of revenue streams.


• Business planning / budgeting and regular reporting to ABL board on progress against KPIs and financial targets.

Specific skills required include:
• Entrepreneurial, bright and creative media professional with the ability to grow and develop Arsenal’s digital media properties
• Strong general management ability derived from a minimum of 3 years experience performing a similar role in a media or new media environment.

• A good understanding of sports media and the associated revenue opportunities.

• Closely acquainted with new media trends and an ability to successfully apply these to ABL’s business operations

• A good understanding of the legal and compliance framework as it relates to sports rights, TV channel operations, intellectual property and data protection

• Commercial acumen and experience of large scale sponsorship deals

• An understanding of international brand building strategies and experience of creating / managing local language media services is useful
