On Sunday 31 January, France beat Croatia (25-21) in the Men’s European Handball final in Austria to become the first ever men’s Handball team to jointly be Olympic, World and European Champions.
- France became only the second country in Handball to be World, Olympic and European Champions at the same time.
- Denmark’s women’s Handball team achieved this in 1997 and a number of other countries have achieved it in other sports.
- The Dutch women’s Hockey team also currently holds all three titles.
