Making his debut for Ferrari, Fernando ALONSO (ESP) has won the Grand Prix of Bahrain, the opening race of the Formula One season.
- ALONSO is the fifth driver in Ferrari history to win the opening Grand Prix of a Formula One season in his first race for the Italian team.
- Felipe MASSA (BRA) finished second to give Ferrari it’s fifth double victory in an opening GP race.
- This was ALONSO’s 22nd GP win in his F1 career. He is now joint tenth with Damon HILL on the all-time list for most GP wins by a driver in Formula One.
